Despite some spotty CGI at times, the first episode of Sweet Home gets off to a great start as it mixes horror and tension with a healthy dose of gore. In fact, the entire episode feels very reminisce of Strangers From Hell, especially with the way the different residents are introduced. As the extinguisher runs out, Seo Yi Kyung pushes the monster out and they manage to close the monster out. However, they see many more monsters running amok outside. On this, director Lee Eung-bok said that " know some of the viewers were anticipating more gore, but hope they will understand why monsters were absent from some parts of our drama."

There’s plenty to like about this one though and between the decent acting, there’s a good amount of effort taken to set up a claustrophobic environment for our characters to grow and fight for survival.
